...my creative endeavors, over all these years, have been diverse. I find that what one is
exposed to often directs one's interests. Thanks to my parents, creative humans in their own right, I benefitted greatly from them bringing me to more museums than sports events. Our house was full of art, books on art, and more books on everything else. Talking about art, artists and art of different cultures across the planet as well as getting to see the actual art that had been created was a regular occurrence growing up and still is. Both of my brothers are artists as well as a handful of other relatives. Art surrounded me throughout my childhood and has accompanied me everywhere I have lived since.
I came to realize early on that 'Art' was not just about the final result on the wall or
pedestal. For me, art encompasses, not only the end result but, the whole process of creating. This includes the idea that pops in my head and ignites a joyful curiosity to see what might evolve if I follow that particular path. Figuring out what materials would be needed and how to use them to their best potential becomes the next step along the way. Sometimes the materials are familiar or sometimes it's a whole new learning curve to engage in. This is all about the 'doing' of art and just as important as the end result. To me this is the 'Fine Art' of making Art that is Fine. My interest and love for creating Art that is Fine has lead me down some wonderful avenues of exploration. I am so very grateful for all the influences, encouragement and opportunities to create as I have had over the years.
It has been a wondrous gift to say the least.
Below are a few examples of these various endeavors over the last 25 years.
